We know what you’re all waiting for when it comes to the holidays. No, it’s not presents; it’s all the tasty food! So we have a really quick recipe when it comes to baking the perfect Christmas or holiday cookies of your choosing for giving out as presents or as a great treat around the house. Here’s what you’ll need to bake the best cookies in town.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 ½ cups of butter, softened
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Cookie cutters

What to do:

  • In a large bowl cream together your softened butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract. Then, stir in the flour, baking soda and salt. Cover with something like cellophane wrap and chill in the fridge for at least one hour (or overnight).
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (or 200 degrees Celsius). Roll out your dough on a floured surface to ¼ or ½ an inch thick. Cut into shapes with your favorite holiday cookie cutters. With any left over dough, continue to roll everything out and cut out cookies until there is no dough left. Place cookies 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 6 to 8 minutes in the preheated oven. Let them cool completely upon finishing.
